Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum speed when driving through the toll lanes?

The maximum speed for all drivers entering the toll lanes on both bridges is 25km/h. However, this speed is for ideal conditions and should be reduced during bridge maintenance, inclement weather or when other non-ideal conditions occur. All vehicles should be prepared to stop at any time while going through the tolls.

Please note: Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) use radar to monitor the speed of drivers on both bridges. The speed of each vehicle is also tracked along with each MACPASS transaction. For the safety of all bridge users please respect speed limits.
