Does MACPASS work in any type of vehicle?The transponder works in most vehicles with standard windshields. There are some vehicles that have windshields with metal content such as heated windshields, windshields with chromium oxide for UV protection, or windshields with a built in antenna that prevent the MACPASS transponder from being read in the lane. In this case, you may need an external license plate transponder, which attaches to the front license plate bracket of your vehicle. If you are not certain about the type of transponder you require, please call the MACPASS Customer Service Centre at (902) 463-3100.
Please note: Many newer model vehicles with such windshields have untreated areas in the upper left and/or right corners for transponder devices.
